Four useful construction paths
Choose the construction that fits how you cook, then select a size and the working details you will actually use.

Choosing a size
Give the board enough room to work.
Measure your available counter, sink, and storage space before ordering. An 18 × 12-inch board is a practical everyday reference point; 20 × 15 and 24 × 18-inch boards provide progressively more working room and weight. Product pages show the complete dimensions, including thickness. Round, paddle, handled, and pizza boards use their own product-specific dimensions.
Choosing a wood
Walnut, maple, or cherry.
Every board is made from solid U.S. Sourced Hardwood. Walnut has the deepest overall tone, maple is the lightest, and cherry brings a warm reddish-brown color that deepens naturally over time. Grain, color, and small natural variations are part of real wood, so no two boards will look exactly alike.
Grooves, handles, and feet
Add only the details that help.
A top juice groove helps contain liquid on the main working face. On eligible premium rectangular boards, a bottom groove sits inside the feet positions so the reverse face remains useful when the board is flipped. Top and bottom grooves cannot be selected together. Pocket and side handles are offered on eligible premium boards; cutout handles belong to eligible classic boards. Installed rubber or brass feet are available only where shown on the product page. Bottom grooves work with no handles or side handles, not pocket handles.
Before you decide
Plan for simple wood care.
Hand wash promptly with mild soap and warm water, never soak the board or put it in a dishwasher, and dry it upright with airflow on both sides. Condition it periodically with food-safe board oil or wax. Proper cleaning and conditioning help solid hardwood stay at its best.
